Find Your Advisor
Nashville State has a hybrid academic advising model in which professional student success advisors and full-time faculty share academic advising responsibilities. All degree or credential seeking students who are new to Nashville State are assigned a professional student success advisor upon admission. Any student seeking an AAS degree or technical certificate is also assigned a full-time faculty member based on their discipline of study upon admission. This dual assignment ensures that AAS and technical certificate students have both a success advisor and subject matter expert faculty advisor from their first day at the college.
Students seeking AA, AS, AST, or AFA degrees will be assigned a professional student success advisor upon admission. A discipline specific, full-time faculty member will be assigned to these students after they have earned greater than 20 college credits with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
