23 Aspiring Educators Start Their Path to the Classroom

Proud to join Austin Peay State University’s (APSU) Eriksson College of Education in celebrating the 23 students in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) Teacher Residency cohort. A signing ceremony was recently held on APSU’s campus to commemorate the beginning of these future educators’ journeys.

These students represent the next generation of educators who will make a lasting impact in our schools and communities. As they pursue an Associate of Science in Teaching (A.S.T.) degree in K–5 Elementary Education, they'll begin their academic journey at Nashville State Community College before transferring to APSU to complete their bachelor's degrees.

Programs like this create meaningful opportunities for students while helping address the growing need for qualified teachers in our region. We look forward to seeing the difference these future educators will make in the lives of countless children throughout their careers.

The cohort will attend classes at Nashville State's Clarksville campus.
