Nashville State and Columbia Southern University Establish Transferability Agreement

Nashville State Community College and Columbia Southern University in Orange Beach, Alabama, have established a partnership allowing 17 different associate degrees and one technical certificate earned at the College to be transferable for graduates seeking a bachelor’s degree with Columbia Southern.

“Providing pathways for graduates either directly to the workforce or their higher education journey, so they have options and may be able to increase their marketability is a critical function of the College,” said Dr. Johannah Williams, vice president for Academic Affairs and Workforce Development. “Through this partnership with Columbia Southern University, Nashville State graduates have one more option available to them.”

As an innovator in online education for the past 30 years, Columbia Southern University was established to provide an alternative to the traditional university experience. CSU offers online associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in areas such as business administration, criminal justice, fire administration and occupational safety and health.

While students can transfer credits in programs ranging from Healthcare Administration to Environmental Management, this is the first agreement with a four-year institution that allows a Computer Information Technology AAS graduate to earn a bachelor's degree in any Information Technology program.
