Nashville State, Belmont University Announce Music Program Transfer Agreement

Nashville State Community College and Belmont University announce its third formal transfer agreement for associate degree-holding graduates seeking a bachelor’s degree.

Nashville State Music Associate of Fine Arts (A.F.A.) graduates may transfer credits toward a Bachelor of Music in Commercial Music (Performance Emphasis) at Belmont University’s prestigious School of Music.

"This agreement expands educational opportunities for students and strengthens our combined commitment to teach and empower future musicians in Nashville."

Students wishing to transfer credits must meet the audition and admissions requirements for Belmont and the School of Music. These students must also provide an official transcript of courses completed.

As part of Nashville State’s Music A.F.A. program, students are offered courses in music theory, music history, music appreciation, voice, guitar, piano, and other instruments of choice.

In addition to the music program transfer agreement, two others exist for graduates of Nashville State’s School of Health Sciences and School of Business and Professional Studies.

Belmont holds a maximum of 16 seats per year for Nashville State graduates with an Associate of Science in Health Sciences seeking a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Additionally, Nashville State graduates with an Associate of Science in Business Administration can transfer to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration.
