Nashville State’s under-construction Dickson campus at the Dickson County Center for Higher Education will be an instructional site for the Associate of Science Nursing program. The expansion to Dickson will help meet the region's growing need for qualified healthcare professionals by providing local students access to quality nursing education, reducing the need to travel, and supporting the community's healthcare workforce demands.

“Nashville State working to bring its nursing program to the Dickson campus reflects our deep commitment to meeting community and workforce needs and providing opportunities that lead to successful careers. This collaboration with TriStar Horizon Medical Center highlights the power of partnerships in creating meaningful educational pathways. It also directly benefits students who are eager to pursue rewarding healthcare careers close to home,” said School of Health Sciences Dean Donna Whitehouse.

The program launches in Spring 2026, with classes starting January 20, 2026, at TriStar Horizon Medical Center, located next to the new Dickson campus. TriStar Horizon donated nine acres for the campus, giving future students modern learning spaces. Nashville State’s new campus will formally open in August 2026, at the start of the fall semester.

“TriStar Horizon Medical Center is pleased to partner with Nashville State to host the Spring 2026 nursing cohort as the Dickson County Center for Higher Education construction continues,” shared Wyatt Chocklett, chief executive officer. “We are honored to play a role in the collective commitment to developing the future generation of the healthcare workforce in our community.”

The application window is open for the Spring 2026 nursing cohorts at both Dickson and White Bridge campuses. The Dickson cohort will accept 24 students in its first term.

Applications are available on Nashville State’s Nursing program webpage at https://nscc.edu/academics/programs/nursing/admission-and-selection-process.php, and the deadline is October 1, 2025.

HOAR Construction is building the Dickson County Center for Higher Education, and Nashville-based Anecdote Architectural Experiences designed the facility. TCAT Dickson will have robust academic programming in the space.
