Dr. Rogers starts on March 2. The North Davidson campus opened in Spring 2022.

“I’m excited to support and advocate for the North Davidson community, and to help advance student-centered programs and services that expand access to education and create more opportunities for economic mobility in Nashville—both through completion and post‑centered programs and services that expand access to education and create more opportunities for economic mobility in Nashville—both through completion and post‑completion success,” Rogers said.

As an experienced student affairs professional, Rogers brings a strong background in employee management, project oversight, and student success initiatives, including counseling and academic advisement.

“Beyond Dr. Rogers’s leadership and professional experience, is her strong personal connection to the North Davidson community where she lived,” said Dr. Shanna L. Jackson, Nashville State president. “I am excited about the energy, innovation and partnerships she will bring in this new role‑completion success, while also effectively managing campus operations.”

Among the many responsibilities as campus director, Dr. Rogers will develop and grow

community partnerships, participate in strategic planning and accreditation processes, maintain student-focused course schedules, recruit and support full-time and part-time staff and faculty, promote the College, and coordinate services to students, including recruitment, admissions, records, financial aid, testing, and library services.

Rogers most recently served as the director of Nashville State’s Student Success Center and the Nashville GRAD program, which she led from the summer of 2021. As the director, she provided strategic direction, leadership, and budget management, and collaborated with academic leaders and advising staff to identify needs and formulate programs, services, and opportunities for students. Previously, she served as the director of college counseling at Valor College Prep and as the associate director and transition and student engagement coordinator at Florida State University’s Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement.

Her personal higher education journey started at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Political Science. Rogers went on to earn a Master of Science in Higher Education and a Leadership in Executive and Administrative Development Certificate from Florida State University, and a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership and Policy from Vanderbilt University.

“Justina will play an important role as the North Davidson campus continues to establish itself and strengthen its identity within the communities it serves,” said Kim Silverman, associate vice president of academic affairs for extended campuses and high school initiatives.
