Nashville State Nursing Program Launches First Dickson Cohort

1.22.26

Nashville State Community College’s nursing program has expanded to Dickson, with the first cohort starting classes this week, January 21, 2026.

Until the construction of Nashville State’s new Dickson campus at the Dickson Center of Higher Education is complete, TriStar Horizon Medical Center is providing classroom and lab space for students. Nursing program applications are open for the Fall 2026 semester.

The expanded program gives Dickson-area students convenient access to quality nursing education, helping build the local healthcare workforce and lowering travel barriers.

TriStar Horizon Medical Center donated nine acres of land for the Dickson Center of Higher Education. The Dickson campus is in the final months of construction and will fully open in August 2026, just in time for the start of the fall semester. At that point, students will move into modern learning environments with state-of-the-art training spaces.

HOAR Construction is building the Dickson Center of Higher Education, with Nashville-based Anecdote Architectural Experiences having led the design.

TCAT Dickson will also offer a slate of allied health programs within the shared space, further expanding educational opportunities in the region.
