Nashville State Statement on Coronavirus
There has been a self-identified case of COVID-19 for a Nashville State Community College student who attends the East Davidson and Southeast campuses. With the college on spring break this week, the student has not been on either campus during this time. Like most organizations, this week the college has been undergoing a deep cleaning on all of its campuses.
Out of an abundance of caution, Nashville State, in coordination with the Tennessee Board of Regents, is closing the East Davidson campus in Donelson and the Southeast campus in Antioch on Thursday, March 12 and Friday, March 13 for hospital-grade deep cleaning. The college continues to assess the situation. More information will be shared as this evolves. All other Nashville State campuses will remain open.
The College strongly encourages students, along with faculty, staff and community members that have been on both campuses to be extra vigilant for their health and that of their immediate circles.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have said to be aware of the following COVID-19 symptoms, which may appear 2-14 days after exposure:
- Fever
- Cough
- Shortness of breath
If you have these symptoms, you are encouraged to contact your health care provider and follow CDC guidelines.
