The Nursing A.A.S. degree courses include didactic and clinical training that includes but is not limited to the fundamentals of nursing, pathophysiology, pharmacology, nursing care of the adult in a medical-surgical setting and an intensive care unit, family nursing including care of children and expectant mothers, mental health nursing, and community health nursing.

After Nashville State

At the conclusion of the program, you will be able to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). After passing the NCLEX-RN exam you will be qualified to work as a Registered Nurse in a variety of healthcare settings.

 

Tennessee requires licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse. All applicants for Tennessee licensure must pass the NCLEX-RN, in addition to other requirements. A felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to attain state licensure.
